Eyes open, mouth shut

For those that have seen Amita in action already, you know that she is not always content and quiet. For those that haven't met her yet... be forewarned! But Amita is definitely improving and is having more moments of quiet alert time, so I took my opportunity to capture it on film so I could share it.

I'd post more, but she is calling out to me as I type, which means I need to spring into action before she makes her discontent known to everyone in the county!

Glamour Shots

Brace yourselves... we have pictures of the cutest baby in the whole wide world! During Amita's first week of life, we had a photographer come to the house and take some photos. As I mentioned previously, it didn't go exactly as planned... but somehow, Shannon (the photographer) managed to capture Amita in the few moments she wasn't fussing. The gallery contains all such photos and gives you the option of ordering as many as you'd like (and with as cute as she is, I can't imagine that you wouldn't order at least one of each!!). Enjoy... we may not be able to capture her being still and calm again soon!!

Double Baptism

Sunday was a special day for our family. It was the baptism of Amita and her cousin Piper (my brother's little girl). All the grandparents were able to attend - even Sandra's parents from Texas! - and it was a joy to see both girls baptized together in one ceremony.

And in case getting schedules for 10 adults to line up wasn't miraculous enough, both babies were quiet throughout the church service and baptism! However, just shortly after, Amita expressed her displeasure with most things, including her adorable shearling boots that she managed to kick off enough times for mom to stop trying to put them back on. It was good while it lasted!

TGIF

So... I never imagined on Sunday that it would be Friday before I had another chance to update the blog. Hard to believe that 5 days have passed so quickly (and yet at 3am, the minutes seem to creep by...).

Since Sunday, we've been trying to settle into a routine and we're starting to get used to all the additional excitement at home. The cats are also adjusting, but they are quick to get in some rubs with us whenever they can steal the chance.

We took Amita to her first doctor visit on Wednesday and everything looked great. She is healthy with no issues and we are truly blessed.

On Thursday, we had a photographer come to the house to take pictures of our little miracle... Amita wasn't so sure about that experience and made her discontent known for 3 of the 4 hours the photographer was here. But our photographer was very patient and in the end, got some great pictures. We'll share those as soon as they are available. In the meantime, here are several shots of Amita over the last few days. It seems to make more sense to post a whole bunch while I have the chance, before another 5 days pass!!

Just A Girl

Introducing Amita Jeneva! She was born at 2:27am on Sunday, January 9th. The subject of this blog for many months now, we finally have pictures of our gorgeous girl to reveal!!

The birth is an exciting tale... one that our sleep deprived brains cannot tell very well today... but soon! In the meantime, have a look-see at the latest addition to our family.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! We rang in 2011 playing board games at home and watching fireworks from our living room windows. Apparently, our house is situated in such a way as to get full view of fireworks on all holidays - a nice surprise bonus!! We also gained one thing this New Year's... Certainty! We know for sure that Baby Bubb will be born sometime in 2011. It's nice to have a slightly better idea of when to expect baby. With each day that passes, we are narrowing the timeframe of when baby might arrive!

So while we wait, we plan to eat snacks and watch Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Go Bucky!!
