Toe Jam and Other Snacks

Amita has been paying close attention to her feet lately. They have always been a mild form of interest, but recently, she loves to play with them and nibble on them. I guess those big meaty toes are even more delicious than her thumbs!!

In other snacking news, we started Amita on solids yesterday! I picked a yellow squash from our garden, peeled it, boiled it and pureed it. As expected, she didn't really eat too much, but she was open to the new experience. And we got to see just how easy it is to spread squash everywhere in the dining room! Should be exciting when we get to the actual "messy" foods!

Here is Amita helping me prepare her first dinner.

Amita taking her first tentative bites of squash. She really seemed to enjoy the spoon - I think it feels good on her gums where her third tooth is trying to poke through.

Amita and her BFF Baxter. He has gone from marching out of the room when she started crying (as a newborn) to following her around the house and snuggling with her when possible. Azzy is fine with this because it frees up my lap for him again!
