Another Good Quarter

We took both kids to the doctor on Friday for wellness visits and both had great reports!  They are growing and healthy and doing well.  The doctor thought the progress Ansel has made since his 12-month checkup is very good (he went from not really moving at all to crawling, scooting, and turning over!) and thinks that things are looking good for him, even if he is a late walker.  It was a relief to hear that; it definitely helped to put some of our worries to rest.

And I can't believe the last post we had was from Amita's birthday!  Things have been cruising along at the speed of life!  We've been trying to generate our own entertainment with the weather being so cold and awful for much of January and February.  It's nice to have an "open gym" basement where they can go work off excess energy!

Here's Amita driving a car around.  She can make it go just fine, but she'll always ask you to push it first.  Pretty clever!

And we've got some Ansel-sized entertainment in the basement as well.  The jumper is helping him strengthen his leg muscles for when he eventually starts standing and walking.

Amita is anxiously awaiting spring now that she has some shark rain boots to stomp through puddles in!  The other night it was raining and she requested to wear these the next day.  Unfortunately for her by the time we woke up, it was less than 20 degrees with 55 mph wind gusts, so rain boots were no longer appropriate!

Here's Amita generating her own entertainment as I cleaned out a storage bin.

This continues to support the theory that cats and kids are surprisingly similar...

This is Ansel wearing a pair of overalls that used to belong to Daddy!  Ansel is so tall and long, we won't get too many wearings out of overalls.  But boy is he handsome in these!

Amita loves her raccoon sweatshirt.  It's a favorite on lazy Saturdays after her bath because it's so warm and snuggly.

Amita was delighted by this owl hat from Grandpa and Grandma.  It's a bit big... but that didn't stop her from wearing it all day inside!!

Azzy thought he found a safe snuggle spot in some clean laundry, but the kids had other plans!

Here's Ansel riding on his boat.  He's learned from watching Amita that when the camera comes out, he should say cheese and smile!  He even does that when I take out my phone for a call or text message.  I guess he can't think of a time when I wouldn't want to snap a photo of his handsome face!!

And here's Amita saying cheese with her mermaid castle.  She loves this!  The hardest thing is sharing with Ansel when he scoots himself over to it!

We had some fun yesterday making cookies.  The recipe called for sifted flour.  Amita loved using the sifter!!  I guess we'll have to make more cookies so we can do it more often!!
