Everyday Fun
Not every day is a remarkable event or holiday, but each and every day, the kids do something funny or surprising or amazing! Here's a few pictures of some regular, wonderful, everyday stuff.
The first picture was a boat that Amita invented. She is using the large wooden spoon as a paddle. She is really creative and always playing pretend with regular household objects!
In the below picture, Amita had said, "Look at my fingers Daddy" and when we turned around, she had olives on each one!
Ansel loves hats and can even say that word, so he had lots of fun dressing up in Daddy's hat!
Amita was cold one morning so we covered her up with a blanket. No sooner did the blanket land on the couch then two cats appeared to snuggle in with her. She sat very still for much of the morning with her furry friends!
Here's the big boy riding on one of our scooters.
And Princess Amita, in her Dora Princess pajamas.
But even princesses have to use the toilet like big girls! She's doing great with her potty training. Not sure how she ended up with Daddy's hat, but she's very pleased to have it!

Easter Egg-citement
We had an amazing Easter and have lots of pictures to tell our story!
This is Amita on Palm Sunday. Clearly, she was in a celebratory mood!
We took the kids to a pancake breakfast the day before Easter so they could meet the Easter Bunny. Amita was really excited to talk to him, which surprised us given the tears at Santa this year!
So we took advantage while she was having fun with the Bunny to put her brother on his lap too. Ansel wasn't sure what to make of him, but he kept calling him Azzy because he's fuzzy all over like a cat.
He also kept turning around to try to give the Bunny kisses! This was the only pic of him alone that he was looking at the camera.
Here's Amita dying eggs after our visit to the Bunny. She got to practice egg hunting at the pancake breakfast (plastic eggs, not real ones there!).
Ansel was up and ready to help with the egg hunt! He couldn't wait for Amita to wake up!
Here's Amita noticing the red egg on the white table downstairs. Now she's getting excited!
The first egg is found!
Ansel gets a special ride with Daddy (partly so he doesn't crush any eggs with his hulk hands!).
Amita was definitely getting into the thrill of the chase.
But there was one egg that kept eluding her...
And then the pink duck appeared!
Finally, all eggs are present and accounted for.
The blue duck had special gifts for Ansel.
And here's both kids in their Easter finery! It's Hawaiian clothes from the island where Aaron's brother and his family are stationed. Amita had been asking for the past month if she could wear her blue dress and it was finally warm enough on Easter!
Ansel getting another ride from Daddy. He was quick to take off his socks and Amita had to get rid of her sweater so you could see more of her cool dress!
A view of the back of Ansel's head. His hair is quite curly in back!

Crocs and Brats
I ordered a pair of easy to put on shoes for Amita that look like tennis shoes, but slip on similar to Crocs (but without the orthopedic stylings that Crocs have). As soon as she saw them, she was beside herself with joy! They are just like Grandpa's (according to her) and she couldn't wait to put them on and then show him later that day!
All the red in the world wasn't enough to lift our Badgers to a Final Four win. But Amita loves to spot the W everywhere we go!
This is Ansel trying his first bites of a brat. He finished everything on his tray and then asked for more! He is going to fit in just fine around here...
Mama and Amita snuggled up in a chair together.
