Ready, Swing Set, Go!

After scouring Craiglist for several months, we finally found the perfect swing set.  We spent a Saturday with both sets of grandparents and our dear friend Paul helping to disassemble, move, and reassemble the swing set in our yard.  It was a spring day, but was cold enough that I needed snow pants!  That didn't stop the kids from testing it out later in the day, though.

It has been such a fun addition to the yard... the kids love playing on it and inventing games.  We are blessed to have many hands so willing to help us turn the heavy lifting into light work.

Here's Ansel testing out the tower and the telescope.

He was also interested in the rock wall... but didn't want to try climbing it yet.  Probably tough to do with mittens on!!

He did take a little help from Daddy and Paul to get to the top and survey the monkey bars, though!

Amita insisted on having Grandpa in the house with her.  She loved the slide!

And it's even big enough for a grown up!!

Here's a view of the full swing set.

The kids love the swings!  We added the tire swing in place of another set of monkey bars.

We also added in this sloped rock staircase.  The kids liked that better than the vertical ladder that was there.

Messy Eating Awards

As Ansel continues to grow and learn about foods he likes... he also discovers new ways to make messes eating!  Here's a select few examples.

And if you make a big enough mess... you need to take off your shirt entirely!!

Magic Ansel was totally fine with that!

Quiet Easter

Easter was a quiet weekend at our house.  The kids were sick, so we didn't make it to see the Easter Bunny at the pancake breakfast.  Instead, we dyed eggs and cheered Wisconsin on together at home.

Here's Amita with her Easter duck.

Ansel wanted to hold his higher in the air!

Amita was excited to find eggs on Sunday morning!  She was up before her brother and filled her hands with eggs!

Ansel was not feeling well at all, but did manage to do a little egg hunting.  And no matter how sick you are, everyone at our house loves the Reese's Pieces "carrots"!!
