Last Day of School

We got to attend 3K graduation (yes, apparently it IS a thing...) and enjoy the last day of school with Amita.  She loved her first year and really blossomed in school, even if her teacher ended up not being a zebra as she originally thought!

The kids put on a short program and then each of them got a calendar of photos that they had been working on all year.

Although Amita knew all the songs, she chose not to participate in the singing or dancing portions of the program.  She did entertain us with the words later in the day of course, but performing in the show wasn't for her, which is totally fine.  She comes by that very honestly!

Amita waved walking in.

And waved during the show!

Here's Amita choosing not to participate (but she did hold the sticks like they asked her).

Shaking hands with her teacher.

The Best Grocery Games Since Supermarket Sweep

Our local grocery store has a carnival every year and it's a fantastic (free!) place to take the kids.  It's just enough entertainment without being overwhelming, as long as you steer clear of the giant Piggly Wiggly pig.  This year, the weather was gorgeous, so we got to enjoy a wonderful morning of rides and hanging out with our friends from the subdivision.

The train was very popular, especially pulling the rope to ring the bell.

The big pig was a little intimidating.

But Ansel eventually gave him a high five!

Mama got to ride in the spinning cups with Amita. She loved it!!

Wide-mouthed Frog

This was our first year of school with Amita attending 3K.  That meant it was also the first year for us to attend a school play!  For weeks leading up to the big night, Amita entertained us by singing portions of the songs they were practicing at school.  The play was The Wide-Mouthed Frog and Amita and the rest of her class were monkeys.

The show was great and I was really impressed with the teachers that they managed to keep so many 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds on task for half an hour!

Amita is 2nd from the left singing and doing the dance moves.

Amita loved doing the play and being a silly monkey!
