And the Messy Eating Award Goes To...
As Ansel has been starting to eat more and more and different kinds of food, there have been lots more opportunities to make messes. Amita is a toddler so the more she does by herself, the more mess there often is as well. The biggest difference between the kids is that Amita likes to get clean and participate in the cleaning up process; Ansel squirms and fights to get free! Once he gets mobile, keeping him clean may be a big challenge!!
So, here's some of the funnier messy moments from our summer.
Amita ended up with a hilarious pudding mustache here!
Ansel didn't love the green peas and managed to get them all over his face! I have since taken to disguising them in yogurt, which worked great with his sister as well!
This is what happens if you try to lick the inside of a pudding cup. You get a clown mouth and a unibrow!
Trying corn on the cob for the first time! She loved it!
Ansel's dimples shine through, even with a bit of Cheerios on his face! But he is doing very well eating solids and can feed himself finger foods!
I made Amita a special lunch (thanks for the idea, Brown's!). She got a big kick out of this funny face.
The most amazing part was that she didn't eat the cheese crown first!
We decided to try out a little cotton candy at our local fair. Amita loved it, but ended up with a pink goatee! She has been eating pretend cotton candy ever since and when I ask her to guess what we're going to make in the kitchen, she guesses cotton candy about half the time. I think it left an impression on her!
Here's Ansel trying avocado for the first time. This is one of his favorite vegetables. We used to hide this in all of Amita's food to help with her weight gain. Ansel doesn't need any help in that department!
Ansel was very proud of himself when he got his hand to make contact with the spoon Daddy was holding and spill it all over the tray and floor!
Another funny lunch for Amita.
Amita loves Nutella on toast (and in yogurt and on anything else I will let her have it on!), but it often makes for some funny pictures. I think she's smiling with her eyes here...
