Farmville
Today we took advantage of the nicer weather (not warm, but at least no rain) and took Amita to a nearby pumpkin farm. There were tons of things to see and do there and she wore herself out walking and running around. We all had fun seeing the sights and the animals and are looking forward to next year when she's a little bigger and can get into some of the bigger kid activities (bounce houses, pumpkin launcher, etc.).
We are also another week closer to the arrival of baby. Aaron and I continue to take advantage of each day that we are relatively footloose and fancy free (not that long ago, we wouldn't have described our current lifestyle as such!) with ONLY one child. It seems like we continue to find chores to keep ourselves occupied... and probably will right up until the birth! We'll see when our little one decides to appear. Until then, viva la vida!
And now, some photos of our day on the farm.
Helping Daddy feed a goat in the petting zoo. Amita was equal parts excited to try to pet this guy and terrified to get too close. She was making great goat sounds the whole time, though!
Playing pumpkin checkers with Mama. She was very proud of her ability to stack the mini pumpkins, after which she yelled out, "Ta daaaa!"
Playing in the straw pit with Daddy. This was a great place for toddlers. She really enjoyed throwing and kicking the straw, as well as feeling it on her hands and face.
All of us enjoying the day out!
Inside the grain house. It was filled with corn (much harder to walk in than sand!) but it was all soft and you could fall and roll every which way. Amita loved having her legs buried and then "finding" her feet!
Getting ready to ride the train with Daddy.
All aboard! Amita loves to yell out, "choo choo!!!"
Playing pumpkin tetherball. She's not ready to take on Napoleon yet, but give her a few years!
Picking out just the right pumpkin to bring home and carve. What an exciting day!!
