Spring Fling
We have been enjoying and trying to take advantage of our recent spring weather... although this past weekend was almost like winter again! Today it was a mother's day miracle: we made it to 9:00am church! The kids were looking super cute and they were both still in good enough humor afterwards to pose with mama! I couldn't ask for more!!
And now a photo diary of what we've been up to...
Amita modeling one of her summer dresses. She was very excited to try on all of her summer outfits to see what still fits from last year!
Ansel in one of his few summer outfits. The snaps have gotten pretty tight on this one over the past 2 weeks! Hopefully, I will find some good summer outfits at a garage sale soon...
Both of the kids hanging out and enjoying the warm weather.
Ansel sitting up on the couch. He still needs some assistance sitting, but he is getting stronger every day. I especially enjoyed his little tummy poking out in this pic!
Amita and Mama wearing big hats for the Kentucky Derby. We had a lot of fun watching the horses on TV.
Ansel hit a milestone recently: He started eating solid food. He got the hang of it pretty quick and is now happily gobbling down a full 1/2 cup of food a day (in addition to all his other feedings!). I can't wait to see what he weighs at his 6-month checkup!
Amita asked to hold Ansel, so I put him on her lap. I think she regretted her decision almost immediately. I totally get it... he's hard to hold on my lap for long periods too!
Here's Ansel reading his first book all by himself.
Ansel and Dada before church. Such handsome fellows!
And here is evidence of some of our other spring work. We have the patio ready for hanging out and Amita was thrilled to have her kitchen back upstairs after the long winter in our basement.
I'm hoping the new planters draw the eye up toward the house and away from our still patchy lawn. We definitely have more work to do in that arena!
The apple trees that we planted in our back yard. I can't wait until we're making applesauce out of the fruits from these trees!
